Listen - I don’t care who you are or what you believe, life is a miracle. You will never change my mind on that. The absolute intricacies that make us who we are and make the world the way it is leave me thinking that life is nothing short of a miracle.

I’ve been tracing the stages in development of my unborn child over that last 9 months and it is the most amazing process I have ever experienced. From it being the size of a poppy seed, to having a beating heart at 5 weeks, through to showing me its going to be England’s top scorer some day (not that I know it’s a boy) it really is an incredible process. It’s a miracle. It’s a miracle that leads me to believe it was created by an artist. This is where you and me may differ on our views. You may believe its the work of a million, million to one chances. Or you may agree with me. Either way it’s a miracle, and you can’t deny that.

February already. This is ridiculous.

I honestly think that 2012 is going to be the best year of my life.  Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had an amazing (nearly) 28 years so far. But 2012 is a step into the unknown. Fatherhood beckons, and even though I am struggling to comprehend the massive change this is going to bring about, I know one thing. That little life currently bundled up inside my other half if going to change things forever. 

So this is why i decided (finally) to blog. Here goes…
